- Clean the dryer regularly - And not just the lint trap (although this should be done preferably after every load).
- Check the dryer hose - This often gets neglected because it is hard to do, but it is well worth the effort.
- If you have a gas dryer, check for gas leaks - Gas dryers are great and energy efficient. But without a professional regularly checking the connections, it could become dangerous.
- Clear the area - If the area around the dryer is clear and clean, there is less chance for fires to spread.
